Bobbie Byrne is the Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer at Advocate Aurora Health, a twenty-seven hospital system Illinois and Wisconsin.
Bobbie is responsible for all information technology applications, information security, infrastructure, clinical informatics, data warehousing and business intelligence across the system.
Previously, Bobbie served as the Chief Medical Officer of Edward Elmhurst Health, a three-hospital system in the western suburbs of Chicago. There she had responsibility for quality and safety through out the system, clinical research, information technology and patient experience.
Bobbie has also been Senior Vice President and General Manager of Clinical Solutions for Eclipsys Corporation (now Allscripts), an enterprise software development company. Other roles have included Senior Manager in the Healthcare consulting division, Cap Gemini Ernst and Young.
Dr. Byrne completed her BA in History at Northwestern University. She completed medical school at Northwestern University and pediatrics residency at Children’s Memorial Medical Center in Chicago. She entered practice as part of an academic faculty practice plan at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and as part of Evanston Northwestern Healthcare (now North Shore University Healthcare). She received her Master in Business Administration from Kellogg Graduate School of Management. She is active in the informatics work of the American Academy of Pediatrics, serving on the organization’s Physician Advisory Council for Informatics. She is board certified in both Pediatrics and Clinical Informatics.
